What I typically eat in a day

I am always reworking my diet to find out which foods make me feel my best and which work for my goals and lifestyle. It’s been a 10+ year process by working on small changes getting me to a healthy diet that is sustainable and satisfying. The main thing I’ve learned throughout the process is that changes to your diet take time and if you never give up, healthy eating can become easy, and enjoyable with big results in how you look and feel.

I hear "health professionals" everywhere, on TV, in podcasts, or online, say to limit fruit because of its sugar content, and it just isn't true for the everyday person. Fruit has many benefits for the body and the naturally occurring sugar in fruit is quite beneficial for gut health. Find out more about why fruit is part of a healthy diet and how much fruit you should be eating as well as which individuals should limit their intake to 1-2 servings per day.

Making Vegetables Taste Delicious

Learning to make vegetables taste good is one of the keys to eating well.  Vegetables are full of fibre, vitamins, minerals and have been shown to increase well being, happiness, and decrease your risk of cancer, obesity, and many age related disease. Many people don't eat the recommended 7-10 servings of fruits and vegetables per day simply because they don't find them appetizing.  Try adding salt and fat to your vegetables and you will start to love them!
